Reality in the Skin of Art
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic disease that affects thousands of people in Brazil. It causes unbearable itching that can lead to lesions and wounds. The stigma involving the disease often causes suffering beyond physical discomfort, leading patients to hide from the world and shut down. Only 1% of patients with atopic dermatitis receive a correct diagnosis. To reveal the drama of atopic dermatitis, we used the ultimate expression of idealized beauty, classical art. Only the power of art can reveal what no one wants to see.
